Well, the season finale is almost upon us and there is a lot going on. We got a very interesting presentation from Allan Joicey this week on turning cubes "on the bias" with Allan showing us he he handles this task and how his methods have evolved. We had a bunch of other thing being made, a santa claus chandelier amongst them and some talk of competition rigging...surely not!! Read on for more:

Allan Joicey: WoodturningAllan Joicey gave us all a very informative presentation about how he tackles turning items from cubes "on the bias". We saw how he had approached workholding and how the methods he uses have evolved with time and practice. Very interesting, great to see the development of the process !!

Burnsy: WoodturningBurnsy has been out doing a Christmas event, taking delivery of a parcel containing some early Christmas presents and making a box for a most important arrival.

Gary Lowe: WoodturningGary Lowe  sent over some photos of a couple of recent pieces...a seasonal piece using a globe and some lights (sorry Jim) and we also got a look at a lidded form, very nice all round !!

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy  sent in some photos of a couple of candle sticks he had made using his Router Lathe. Sadly these router attachements are no longer made but they are still able to be found on eBay and other places...nice work as always!!

Patrick Lindsay: WoodturningPatrick Lindsay  sent over a few photos including a superb burst of colour from the Greenhouse!! Patrick also has a used Tormek supergrind with a variety of jigs up for sale, it's an older model but in good order with a spare wheel. Anyone interested in the grinder should contact either Patrick or me and I can put you in touch.

Paul Howard: WoodturningPaul Howard  sent in some images of a piece recently completed for a Christmas competition of sorts - one for Simon Hope and his team with results announced at the staff Christmas party...apparently Simon won this year but there have been some accusation of rule bending...allegedly that is....
